Troy Ray Boyd, 34, died Sept. 2, 1997, in Virginia Beach.

A Norfolk native, he was a self-employed contractor. Troy was friend to all and stranger to none. He was an avid Redskin fan and a future diamond.

Survivors include his wife, Salena M. Boyd; a son, Jacob Edward Boyd; parents, Gary O. Boyd and Joyce A. Boyd of Norfolk; grandmother, Leslie Eunice Craddock of Norfolk; stepchildren, Matthew Pitino, Lacey Pitino, and Chance W.E. Hardin; two aunts; three uncles and several cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by Fr. William Dale. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
