Larry Lee Kanniard Jr., 31, died Sept. 2, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Kanniard was employed with the United Parcel Service in Norfolk. He was a U.S. veteran with eight years of service before before being stationed at N.A.S. Oceana, VFC-12 as an airframer. He was a sophomore at Tidewater Community College, studying civil engineering. He was an avid hunter, especially for deer. He was very useful handyman; he and his wife rebuilt their home together three years ago after a fire burned it down.
Survivors include his wife, Kristin (Nelson) Kanniard who is with VR-56 at N.A.S. Norfolk; his father, Larry Lee Kanniard of Cullen, Va.; his mother, Peggy Sue Kanniard of Toms River, N.J.; grandmother, Eva Kanniard of Grove City, Ohio; two brothers, Shawn Lee Kanniard of New Jersey and Christopher Lee Kanniard of Wall, N.J.; two sisters, Sheri Lee Kanniard of Toms River and Jennifer Lee Kanniard of Avon, N.J.; two nieces, a nephew and several other family members and friends.
A chapel service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service until 5 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
