ANNIE M. GARRIS

Annie M. Garris of the 900 block of Hancock Ave. died Aug. 30, 1997, in Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Md.

The widow of Joseph W. Garris Sr, her husband of 53 years, she was a beautician, baker and factory worker retiring in 1970. She was a past member of St. Mark Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and was a native of New Bern, N.C.

Survivors include her three daughters, Josephine Faulk of Middletown, N.Y., Catherine Pope and Barbara McCracken, both of Portsmouth; a son, Joseph W. Garris Jr. of Silver Spring; six grandsons; a host of great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Friday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
