Maude Norman Rowland, 89, died Sept. 1, 1997.
Born in Turkey Island, N.C., she was the widow of Lester L. Rowland and a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Overton of Charleston, S.C., Joann Richard of Vero Beach, Fla., Mary Ellen Shelton of Manteo, N.C.; a son, Bill Rowland of Mocksville, N.C.; three sisters, Claudia Nichols of Chesapeake, Ruth Morris and Doris Spoolman, both of Drakes Branch, Va; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert L. Morris Jr. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, from 8 to 9 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
