John Henry Wiggins, 70, of 9285 Corinth Chapel Road, died Aug. 20, 1997, at home.
Born in Como, N.C., the son of the late Henry Wiggins and Blanche Benton Wiggins, he was retired from Union Camp after 35 years. He was a member of Mill Neck Baptist Church, its Senior Usher Board, Trustee Board and Leadership Conference Committee. He was a member of Holland Lodge No. 256 and the 20/20 Club of Como.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Cooper Wiggins; four sons, John N. Wiggins of Norfolk, Ralphael E. Wiggins of Hampton, Melvin N. Wiggins of Franklin, Lonnie L. Wiggins of Suffolk; daughters, Darnice Goodman of Norfolk, Blanche LaVerne Hicks of Petersburg, Va.; brothers, Herman V. of the Bronx, N.Y., Itill A. of Springfield, Mass.; sisters, Savanah Jones of Staten Island, N.Y., Sarah Wiggins of Springfield, Mass., Cora Goodall and Odell Fountain of Queens, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his sisters, Alice Britt and Betty Setts, and his brothers, Lutenant and Wade.
A funeral was conducted in Mill Neck Baptist Church by the Rev. Alvin Knight. Burial was in the church cemetery. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
