JACKIE L. PLEDGER

Ms. Jackie Lee Pledger, 49, of the 800 block of W. 36th St., departed this life Thursday morning, Aug. 28, 1997, at 4 a.m. in Chesapeake General Hospital.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Almetta Gallop Pledger of Norfolk; a son, Chris D. Pledger; sisters, Christine A. Pledger of Norfolk, Fateema A. Whitehead of Norfolk; a brother, Harold B. Pledger Jr.; two nieces, Sherry V. Roberson and Frances A. Taylor; a nephew, Lavonne Pledger; two great-nephews, Rodney Taylor and Percy Roberson Jr.; aunts, Lula Gallop Dough of Norfolk and Carla Hoffer of Manteo; uncles, Nathan Gallop of Norfolk, Charlie Pledger Sr., Wilson Pledger and Otis Pledger of Manteo; and a host of cousins, in-laws and devoted friends. She was predeceased by her father, Harold B. Pledger Sr.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in St. Mark RZUA Church by the Rev. Verdie Merritt. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the residence.
