CHESAPEAKE
On Monday, the School Board will hold public hearings on the administration's proposed Capital Improvement Plan and on a proposal to require a minimum 2.0 grade point average for students wishing to participate in Virginia High School League activities, including sports.
The school's proposed building plan includes 19 projects and would cost more than $163 million over the next five years. Another public hearing will be held Sept. 29.
Both hearings will take place, one after the other, at the start of the board's regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the School Administration Building at 312 Cedar Road. Those wishing to speak should call the board clerk's office at 547-1047.
SUFFOLK
The School Board will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers on the second floor of the Municipal Building at 441 Market St. The meeting will be broadcast live on the Municipal Channel - Falcon Cable TV Channel 8 - and will be rebroadcast on WSPS-Cable Channel 6, the school division's educational-access channel.
