ROBERT L. BRUNSON SR.

Robert Lewis Brunson Sr., 56, of the 3700 block of Sidley Road, died Sept. 4, 1997, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.

Born in Lanes, S.C., he retired after 30 years from the Philadelphia Prison System as a sergeant, chief registrar. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Edwina Rawlings-Brunson of Chesapeake; two daughters, Karen Brunson and Roslyn Brunson, both of Philadelphia; a son, Robert Brunson Jr. of Philadelphia; a stepson, Ascari J. Rawlings of Chesapeake; his mother, Irene M. Brunson of Philadelphia; a sister, Fannie Brunson of South Carolina; three brothers, Joseph Brunson of South Carolina, Jerry Brunson of New Jersey and James Brunson Jr. of Philadelphia; six grandchildren; a mother-in-law, Doris Lynch of Suffolk; and a host of other relatives, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Lakeview Baptist Church, Suffolk by Dr. John E. Jones. Burial will be in Mazell Family Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will begin at noon Sunday at Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Monday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
