Willie Etta Smith, 76, of the 2600 block of Ruffin Way, died Sept. 2, 1997, at home.
Born in Alexandria, Va., she was a member of First Baptist Church, Berkley, Norfolk, Amicitia Social and Savings Club and the Fragrant Rose Chapter 14 Order of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of James Smith Sr. and the daughter of the late Mary and Willie Diggs.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Smith of Norfolk; a son, James A. Smith Jr., and daughter-in-law, DeCarlo Y. Smith, both of Petersburg; a brother, Edward Taylor of Alexandria; grandchildren, LeShan J. Smith of Petersburg and Bryson Smith and Jordan Smith, both of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in First Baptist Church, Berkley, Norfolk, by the Rev. William Tyree. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday in Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
