Byrle Elkton Faulkner Sr., 81, of the 9600 block of Chesapeake Blvd., died Sept. 4, 1997, in a local hospital.
He retired in 1961 from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service, where he served during World War II and Korea. Following his military service, he went to work for Moran Towing Corp. where he also retired. Mr. Faulkner was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ann Pavay Faulkner, and his daughter, Susan McCook.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol A. Faulkner of Henryton, Md., Rene A. Faulkner of Norfolk; two sons, Byrle E. Faulkner Jr. of Dayton, Fla., and Robert G. Faulkner of Boston; two sisters, Betty Jean Rowlett of Kingsport, Tenn., and Easter Menefree of Covington, Va.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Cox Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
