Cmdr. Paula H. Hinger, who has commanded the ``Rawhides'' of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 40 for 18 months, relinquished command of the 400-member squadron and its two-dozen C-2 Greyhound aircraft to Cmdr. Mark P. Boettcher, the squadron's former executive officer.
Hinger is being reassigned to the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk as an instructor. The squadron, whose primary mission is Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD), is popular with sailors expecting transportation, supplies and mail to and from the carrier battle groups.
During the past year the squadron has delivered more than 3,000 passengers and untold tons of cargo to East Coast-based carriers. The twin-engine turboprop C-2s can carry a crew of three, plus 26 passengers. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
