Richard Meldon Lewis, 62, died Sept. 4, 1997, in Gretna, Va.
Born in Mahaska County, Iowa, he retired as a master sergeant after 22 years with the U.S. Army. He was a chef at Lynnhaven Fish House for 12 years. Mr. Lewis was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Hannelore Lewis; a daughter, Janine H. Cernetich and her husband, Mikel, of Leesburg, Va.; a son, Marcus B. Lewis and his wife, Lisa, of Virginia Beach; a sister, Marilyn Segreto and her husband, Joseph, of Bricktown, N.J.; the joy of his life, grandson Ian and newly arrived grandson, Hunter Richard; and several nieces, nephews and his devoted hunting companion, Breeze.
Services will be held privately at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
