IRENE F. GRASS

Irene Mary Fifield Grass, 60, of the 700 block of Donnington Drive, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at her home in Chesapeake.

Mrs. Grass was born in Bangor, Maine, and was the daughter of Virginia Kelley Fifield of Hudson, N.H., and the late Charles H. Fifield. She was predeceased by a brother, John A. Fifield of Portland, Maine. Mrs. Grass worked in the accounting office of Chesapeake General Hospital and ARA Food Services.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Malcolm P. Grass; her two daughters, Maureen Virginia Webber and husband, David, Katherine Theresa Morra and husband, Patrick, all of Chesapeake; three sons, Michael Phillip Grass and wife, Colleen of Cranston, R.I., Patrick Gregory Grass of Chesapeake and Brian Charles Grass and wife, Shannon of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Patricia Ann Grenier of Hudson, N.H.; two brothers, Charles Edward Fifield of Chesapeake and Eugene Richard Fifield of Manchester, N.H.; eight grandchildren, Stephen and David Morra, Brent and Macy Webber, Elizabeth, Felicia and Keenan Grass and Emily Grass.

A mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake by the Rev. Christian Haydinger. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Viewing will begin Tuesday. A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, with the family receiving friends following the service until 9 p.m.
