Robert Channing ``Bob'' Bell, 67, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997 at his residence.
Mr. Bell was born in Norfolk. He graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk and attended Virginia Military Institute. He was retired from Graybar Electric Company, and was a former member of the Greensboro Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Jordan Bell.
Surviving are his daughters, Trish Bell Dillon and son-in-law, Gary D. Dillon of Winston-Salem, Barbara Bell Horton and son-in-law, Richard C. Horton of Kernersville and Sheryl Bell Chester of Greensboro; grandchildren, Amanda Marie Dillon, Christopher Phillip Chester, Richard Channing Horton and Robert Carlton Horton.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel in Greensboro with the Rev. Al Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, Piedmont Region, 430 W.
