GENE LISTER SR.

Gene ``Sandflea'' Lister Sr., 85, of the 700 block of Pecan Point Road, died Sept. 7, 1997, in a local hospital.

A native of Weeksville, N.C., he had resided in Norfolk most of his life. He was a member of the Tidewater Lost Chord Club, and vice president and chairman of the board of Pecan Point Food Products Inc.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret E. Lister; four sons, Buddy Lister and his wife, Bonnie, Richard ``Dick'' Lister, Ray Lister and his wife, Carolyn, Aubrey Lister and his wife, Jeanette; a daughter, Maggie Roundtree Cuffe and her husband, Rick Cuffe; a brother, Ivy Lister; a sister, Elizabeth Hartzell, all of Tidewater; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tidewater Lost Chord Club, c/o American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, 23513. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
