Jorge B. Joaquino, M.D., 67, died Sept. 7, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Born in Cebu City, Philippines, he was a retired physician and member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, the Philippine Medical Association, Eastern Virginia, and the Virginia Beach Medical Society. He was an accomplished violinist. He played with the Virginia Sunday Pops and the Virginia Beach Community Orchestra.
Survivors include his wife, Bella R. Joaquino; a daughter, Karyn R. Joaquino of New York City; six sisters of the Philippines; and a brother in San Francisco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 6 p.m. today in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church by Father Leo Manalo. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
