RICHARD C. FONNER

Richard C. Fonner, 67, of the 3700 block of Nansemond Circle, died Sept. 7, 1997, in Emporia, Va.

Born in Altoona, Pa., he lived in Norfolk since 1960. He served 20 years in the Navy and retired from Virginia Power. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and the German European American Society, and was an active member of the Tidewater Bicycle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Annemarie H. Fonner; his son, Thomas D. Fonner of Montclair, Va.; his daughters, Lynda M. Elkins of Virginia Beach and Robin S. Fonner of St. Petersburg, Fla., and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 6510 N. Military Highway, Norfolk, by the Rev. Elmer Medley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 891 Norfolk Square, Norfolk, Va. 23502. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel, Norfolk, is in charge.
