Ida Smith Sparks, 73, of the 2800 block of Bagley St., died Sept. 6, 1997, in her home.
Born in Northampton County, N.C., she was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Relief Usher Board.
Survivors include her spouse, Felix Sparks Jr. of Portsmouth; two sons; five sisters; five brothers; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Curtis E. Edmonds. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
