MARIJUANA SEIZED IN VIRGINIA BEACH

ILLUSTRATION: MARK MITCHELL/The Virginian-Pilot

Special agents from the State Police Drug Suppression Division

seized 60 marijuana plants with a street value of about $60,000

Tuesday at a farm in the 1000 block of Diamond Springs Road in

Virginia Beach. The plants, growing in a 30-foot-by-30-foot patch of

the 100-acre farm, ranged in height from 12 to 15 feet. Charles K.

Rhoades, 40, of Virginia Beach was charged with manufacturing

marijuana. Charles S. Honeycut, 38, also of Virginia Beach and shown

at right, was charged with the same offense but is still at large.

Police described him as 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and

eyes, and said he frequents the Aragona area of Virginia Beach and

the Chesapeake Boulevard and Little Creek areas of Norfolk. He often

wears a blue and white bandanna, police said. Anyone with

information on Honeycut is asked to call the state police at

424-6800.
