MAE C. WEISSMAN

Mae Cohen Weissman, 87, of the 400 block of West Bute St., died Sept. 10, 1997, in her residence

Mrs. Weissman was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a resident of the Tidewater for 55 years. She was the co-owner, with her husband, of the Regent Stores in Hampton for over 30 years. She was a member of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk and a former member of B'Nai Israel Synagogue in Hampton.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Max Weissman of Norfolk; a daughter, Joan Alice Weissman Gould and a son, Michael Weissman, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Dottie Katz of New York and Sondra Myers of Newport News; her brothers, George Cohen of Hampton and Moe Cohen of New York; and four grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. The family will sit shivah at the home of Joan and Howard Gould, 421 W. Bute Street, 504 Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to B'Nai Israel Synagogue, Hampton. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
