JAMES L. JORDAN

James Leonard Jordan, of the 1200 block of Boush Way, died Sept. 9, 1997, in his residence.

Mr. Jordan was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving 33 years. He received several awards while serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was also an ordained deacon at Azalea Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mabel ``Pat'' Jordan; three sons, Lenny Jordan of Windsor, Va., Archie Smith Jr. of Norfolk, and Donald Stewart of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, William Monaghan of Greencove Springs, Fla.; five granchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A chapel service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday by Pastor James Dunn. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
