PUBLIC HEARINGS

Twin Pines Neighborhood: Request of Bishops Green, L.L.C., for a rezoning of property located within the 4300 block of Twin Pines Road from Residential RS-100-K (Conditional) to Residential RS-125 and Residential RS-60-K. Deferred pending Planning Commission Action

Cavalier Manor Neighborhood: Mount Sinai Church requests a rezoning from Light Manufacturing M-1 to Commercial C-2 at 103 Gust Lane. Approved, 7-0

Cavalier Manor Neighborhood: Mount Sinai Church requests a use permit to operate a church at 103 Gust Lane. Approved, 7-0

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Ordinance granting the rezoning request of C. Raeford Eure for property between Wild Duck Lane and West Norfolk Road from Residential RS-150 and Residential RM-60 to Commercial C-2, deferred from the Aug. 12 City Council meeting. Withdrawn by applicant

Resolution granting the use permit request of C. Raeford Eure to construct a self-storage facility between Wild Duck Land and West Norfolk Road, deferred from the Aug. 12 City Council meeting. Withdrawn by applicant

CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

Adoption of an ordinance to appropriate $89,000 in Capital Improvements Fund for improvements to athletic fields at the Wilson Little League complex and Churchland Park. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of an ordinance closing a portion of Queen Street from the western right-of-way line of Jamestown Avenue eastwardly to the point where Queen Street was closed for creation of the new I.C. Norcom High School site. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of an ordinance closing portions of Nashville Avenue and Randolph Street. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of a resolution authorizing the city manager to convey a parcel of property at the northwest corner of High Street and Cedar Lane to the Commonwealth of Virginia for the widening of Cedar Lane. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with Curtis Strange Inc. for services as a golf consultant for the redesign and reconstruction of the City Park and Bide-A-Wee Golf Courses. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with the City of Suffolk for lease of the Suffolk Golf Course. Approved, 7-0

Adoption of a motion transferring $128,047 from the Grants Contingency Account for fire protection services. Approved, 7-0
