CURTIS L. SMITH

Curtis Lee Smith, 40, of the 1100 block of N. Carrington Crescent, died Sept. 10, 1997.

A native of Portsmouth, he was a civil service employee for 20 years at Fort Story, Va. He was a member of Centennial Baptist Church and president of the Male Usher Board, and a member of the Male Chorus and Brotherhood. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Sykes-Smith; a daughter, Tabitha Smith; three sons, Nathan, Jacoby and Jeffrey Smith; his parents, Evelyn G. Smith and William Smith; a sister, Catherine Smith; and a brother, the Rev. Vernon R. Smith.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Centennial Baptist Church by the Rev. R.L. Addison Sr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
