Vernon E. Ramsey, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997.
He had been a local resident since 1920. Mr. Ramsey was the owner of Vernon E. Ramsey and Co., a produce packaging company. A native of Suffolk, he was the son of the late John C. Ramsey Sr. and Mary Jane Elizabeth Shea Ramsey.
Survivors include his loving family, wife, Martha Slyoff Ramsey; daughter, Marilynn S. Simon (Robert) of Lighthouse Point, Fla.; sister, Mary Lee Forbes of Norfolk; and brother, John C. Ramsey Jr. of Suffolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach. A service will also be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Suffolk Christian Church, Suffolk, by Dr. Michael Halley, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home is in charge locally.
