Bertha Harris Jenkins, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 1997, in Guardian Care Nursing Home.
She was the widow of Sherwood R. Jenkins Sr. and a retired elementary school teacher.
Survivors include her sons, Sherwood Reed Jenkins Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and James Bert Jenkins of Virginia Beach; three brothers, James R. Harris of Roanoke Rapids, Dick Harris of Virginia Beach and Carl E. Harris of Littleton; a sister, Offa Lou Jenkins of Littleton; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Branch Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, by the Rev. D. Wayne Martin. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Littleton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
