HELEN R. PITT MILLS

Helen R. Pitt Mills, 63, of the 500 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died Sept. 11, 1997, in a local hospital.

She was born in Norfolk County and was employed with Maryview Hospital for 26 years. She was a devoted member of New Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a former member of the Gospel and Mass Choirs.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen M. Ellis and Linda A. Blackwell, both of Portsmouth; a son, Sylvester Mills Jr. of Hampton; three sisters, Delores Lawrence, Lillian Braswell and Gloria Chatman; three brothers, Robert, James and Theodore Pitt; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Mount Vernon Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon S. Lee. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
