JAMES E. RECTOR SR.

James Ervin Rector Sr., 65, passed away to be with the Lord Sept. 14, 1997, in a local hospital.

Mr. Rector was a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in Vietnam, the Cuban Blockade and in Korea. He was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Skelton, W.Va.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Ann; his mother, Maziella Rector; two daughters, Patty Rector Esposito and her husband, Mike, of Seminole, Fla., Linda Rector Davis and her husband, Steve, of Virginia Beach; three sons, James E. Rector Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Virginia Beach, Walter Rector and his wife, Wendy, of Largo, Fla., and Michael Rector and his wife, Lynne, also of Virginia Beach; a brother, Charles Rector of Ohio; four sisters, Shirley Boyd of Edenton, N.C., Carol Sampsell of Hartwood, Va., Edith Ogle of North Carolina and Charlene Woods of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Michael, Anthony and Joseph Esposito, Jason and Shelby Rector, Stephen and Patty Davis, Michael Rector Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
