A masked gunman robbed and bound a man visiting his elderly mother Sunday night, then robbed the mother, police said.
The suspect, wearing a nylon stocking mask and carrying a handgun, entered a garage in the 100 block of Maury Place about 9:30 p.m., police spokesman Mike Simpkins said.
The gunman forced the man, who lives in another Suffolk neighborhood, to his knees, then tied both wrists behind his back, Simpkins said.
The gunman removed the victim's billfold containing a small amount of cash and assorted credit cards, then approached the mother and took a small amount of money from her purse, Simpkins said.
The suspect then put the gun to the man's neck and asked if that was all the money, Simpkins said. When the man replied, ``Yes,'' the suspect went out the open garage door and fled.
The robber was described as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call detectives H.J. Wright or V.C. Pisani at 925-6350, or Crime Line at 539-1222. KEYWORDS: ROBBERY
