William ``Bill'' R. Turner, 53, died Sept. 10, 1997, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
He was born in Clinton County, Ohio, and retired as a master chief machinist's mate after serving 24 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy. At the time of his death, he was a supervisor for Dreadnought Marine Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; two sons, William (Billy) R. Jr. and wife, Sherri, and Robert (Bobby) Scott Turner and wife, Kim; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Lydia. Other survivors include his mother, one sister and two brothers, all of Ohio.
A funeral was conducted in Sabina, Ohio, on Monday. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Abundant Harvest Church, located on the ground floor of an office building at 6037 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Joe Warren. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
