ROBERT H. FIELDS SR.

Robert H. Fields Sr., also known as Bobby Fields, 59, of the 1100 block of Sir Lancelot Drive died Sept. 15, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital, Chesapeake.

Born in Norfolk County, Va., he was a self-employed auto salesman. He was a member of Martin Luther King United Methodist Memorial Church, Portsmouth, the M.L.K. Outreach Choir, United Methodist Men, and also a past member of the Virginia Opera Guild.

Survivors include eight daughters, Tammy Daniels, Toinette Hurt, Chris Fields, all of Chesapeake, Cheryl McAllister of Suffolk, Monique Alston of Richmond, Yvette Harris Jenifer of Maryland, Sharon Malone of Kentucky, Schina Simmons of Philadelphia; eight sons, Robert H. Fields Jr., Kenny Fields, Kerif Johnson and Armando Williams, all of Chesapeake, Tracy Fields of Hampton, Darryl Addison of Richmond, Larry Stokes of Portsmouth, Kevin Harris of Maryland and two special sons, Prentice Perry and David Schneider, both of Portsmouth; his mother, Julia B. Fields of Coal Valley, Ill.; six sisters, Mildred Robinson of Culpepper, Va., Joan Robinson of Iowa, Elise Manley, Edith Naylor and Ruth Chandler, all of Portsmouth, Sarah Bailey of Suffolk; seven brothers, Theodore Fields, Roy Fields, Charlie Bullock, Michael Bullock, Thomas Bullock, all of Portsmouth, Floyd Fields of Maryland and William Bullock of North Carolina; 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a devoted companion, Celeste L. Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends and former wife, Nadine Fields. He was predeceased by his father, Johnnie H. Fields.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Martin Luther King United Methodist Memorial Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Reginald A. Early. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
