Kella (Bud) David Turner, 72, of Andrews Ave., died Monday Sept. 15, 1997, in Dale Medical Center.
Mr. Turner was a native and longtime resident of Dale County and Norfolk. He was a member of Campground Baptist Church. He owned and operated T&W Paint Contractors of Ozark for 12 years. Retired from the U.S. Navy, he served in both World War II and the Korean War. He retired in 1968 after 25 years of service at the rank of master chief petty officer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora (Doll) Turner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald David and Camilla Turner of San Diego, Donald Gary and Jo Ann Turner of Chesapeake; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Johnny Wenston and Sheri Willis of Ozark; five brothers, O.V. Turner of Ozark, Mack Turner of Ozark, J.C. Turner of Rock Island, Ill., Boyd Turner of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Tom Turner of Ocean Springs, Miss.; five grandchildren, Kim Michelle Parsley, Robert Turner, Wendell Turner, Kevin Turner and Angie Turner; five stepgrandchildren, Amber Willis, Ashley Willis, Phillip Willis, Krista Willis and Joey Willis; and three great-grandchildren, Michael Turner, Thomas Parsley and Elizabeth Parsley.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Campground Baptist Church by the Rev. Harry Circle. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with military honors at the graveside. Visitation will be at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, Ozark, at 5 p.m. today until one hour before the service time when his body will be placed in the church. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
