Mary L. Thornton of the 6400 block of Stoney Point South, died Sept. 16, 1997, in DePaul Medical Center.
Born in Oxford, Miss., she was the widow of Elder Rufus Thornton. She was retired from maid service, a church mother and a member of The Way of the Cross, C.O.G.I.C.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Jones and Beulah Wilson, both of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Joy C.O.G.I.C. (26th and Granby), by Elder Cecil Wiggins. Burial will be in St. Lukes Church Cemetery. Viewing is in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The family will assemble at 6423 Stoney Point South at 10 a.m. for the procession. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
