SHELBY J. OLSON

Shelby Jean Olson, 60, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997, at Hampton Sentara Hospital.

A native of Marion, Va., Mrs. Olson had been a Peninsula resident for 43 years. She worked for Gloria Manufacturing for 30 years and also worked with her husband at their family business, Kirk's Auto Upholstery, for the past 10 years.

Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ernest Victor Olson Jr.; five sons, Ernest Victor Olson III, and his wife, Robyn, of Newport News, Troy Eugene Olson, and his wife, Sherry, of Hampton, William Keith Olson of Portsmouth, MichaelLee Olson Sr., and his wife, Pamela, of Hampton, and Charles Kevin Olson, and his wife, Paula Nancy, of Hampton; two sisters, Helen Esque and Nancy McDaniel, both of Charles City; five grandchildren, Troy Eugene Olson Jr., Jennifer R. Olson, Michael L. Olson Jr., Hope L. Johnston and Jessica B. Johnston; two great-grandchildren, Craig Olson and Arrum Olson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News. Dr. R. Furman Kenney will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
