VIRGINIA BEACH WOMAN DIES IN COLLISION IN CHESAPEAKE

A 51-year-old Virginia Beach woman was killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision on Mount Pleasant Road, police said.

She was identified as Patricia Louise Michalski, of the 3800 block of Forrester Way.

The woman was headed west about 7:20 a.m. on Mount Pleasant Road toward Great Bridge when a Dodge truck hit her car, said Greg Rowe, a police spokesman.

The driver of the Dodge apparently hit the brakes to avoid striking a car that had stopped to make a turn in front of the truck.

The truck could not stop, and swerved around the turning car, hitting Michalski's car. A fourth, westbound vehicle - a truck - then hit the woman's car from behind.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
