Nona Haven Collins, 75, of the 500 block of Dwight Drive died Sept. 16, 1997,in Maryview Hospital.
Born in Savannah, Ga., she was a retired teacher of the Norfolk City Public School System after 35 years. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Norfolk, its Martin Bible Class and Daughters of the King.
Survivors include her husband, Archie Collins Jr.; three daughters, Betty Jo Woodhouse of Virginia Beach, Chiquita Crew of Portsmouth, Sherry Collins-Solares of Norfolk; stepdaughter, Barbara C. Seaborn of Virginia Beach; a son, Reginald Collins of Norfolk; three sisters, Alice Beech of Kinston, N.C., Kathryn Farrow of Chicago, Geraldine Dearing of Atlanta; a brother, Curtis Haven of the Bronx; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Grace Episcopal Church, Norfolk, by Fr. Harold Cobb. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon Sunday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
