AVA H. EDMONDS

Ava Howell Edmonds, 74, of the 1200 block of Larry Ann Drive died Sept. 18, 1997.

A native of Gatesville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Leslar Woodson and Sadie Smith Howell and the widow of Charles Samuel Edmonds and mother of the late Charles Samuel Edmonds II.

Survivors include her daughters, Weeta Hawkins of Suffolk, Carolyn Niblett of Corapeake, N.C.; her sisters, Olivia H. Dew of Calera, Ala., Idalia H. Lilley of Williamston, N.C., Laura H. Bryant of Matthews, N.C., Joyce H. Johnson and Faye H. Eure, both of Suffolk; her brothers, Lofton Howell and Hallett Howell, both of Suffolk; her grandchildren, Renee Cutchin, Blair Hawkins, Lynette Merriman, Bradley Williams, Jimmie Williams; her great-grandchildren, Tiffany Hawkins, Joshua Hawkins, Christopher Merriman, Christina Williams, Amanda Williams and Sandra Williams.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Douglas W. Gibson. Burial will be in Howell Family Cemetery, Gates County, N.C. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
