Pauline Love Ewell, 83, formerly of Kenbridge, Va., died Sept. 18, 1997.
She was the widow of Frederick Holmes Ewell and daughter of the late Ernest Paul and Elizabeth Terrell Love.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Ewell Sterner of San Rafael, Calif., Frances Ewell Tharpe of Statesville, N.C.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marion L. Austin of Kenbridge, Va.
Mrs. Ewell graduated from Kenbridge High School and Stratford College School of Nursing in Danville, Va. Mrs. Ewell was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Statesville where she served on the altar guild for 35 years ever lending a helping hand to the needs of others. She was an avid athlete and ardent lover of nature and was a charter member of the Junior Women's League of Statesville. She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
