JAMES L. FOX SR.

James L. Fox Sr., 68, died Sept. 20, 1997, in a local rehabilitation center.

He was a native of Bridgeport, Conn., and the son of the late Elesa Q. Siler and James M. Fox. Mr. Fox had retired from the Norfolk Police Department as a lieutenant. He was a Christian and loved Jesus.

He is survived by his wife, Neomia W. Fox; two daughters, Martha Ann Waterfield of Chesapeake and Brenda S. Cartledge of Norfolk; two sons, Lynn A. Walker of Burnsville, N.C., and James L. Fox Jr. of Norfolk; four granddaughters, S. Andrea Walker and K. Rachael Walker of Mars Hill, N.C., Michelle A. Waterfield of Chesapeake and Chelsie E. Cartledge of Norfolk; a grandson, Ray L. Waterfield III of Chesapeake and a great-grandson, Christopher S. Waterfield of Chesapeake.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Lloyd Stamant. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Following the service the family will be at 800 Contrell Court, Chesapeake. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
