Yusef ``Joe'' Abdullah of the 7200 block of Chesapeake Blvd., died Sept. 18, 1997, in New York City.

He was born in Norfolk and was a laborer.

Survivors include his wife, Annetta Abdullah; three sons, Jahmin, Akili and Joshua Abdullah; a stepson, Leonardo Askew; his mother, Alice M. Turner; stepfather, Jesse Turner; four sisters, Deanna White, Melinda Thomas, Barbara Woods and Josephine Skinner; two brothers, Ricky and Teddy Skinner; a special friend, Valerie Vaughan of New York; great-nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Smyrna Church of Christ Holy Disciples by the Rev. Susie Saunders. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
