CURLEY VICKERS JR.

Curley Vickers Jr. of the 2900 block of Doris Ave., died Sept. 19, 1997, in alocal hospital.

Born in Welsh, La., he had retired as a boiler maintenance mechanic after 20 years with the U.S. Civil Service. He was also retired after 20 years with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he participated in the male usher board. He also assisted with the Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife, Armetria Vickers; a daughter, Celesia Johnson of Chesapeake; a son, Jerome Allen Comer of Norfolk; six sisters; six brothers; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He will be missed by a host of family and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Jerusalem Baptist Church by the Rev. H. Carlyle Church Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
