Elvernon H. ``Red'' Purvis of the 2600 block of Kings Court died Sept. 17, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General.
Born in Norfolk, he worked in moving and storage for Red Ball Van Lines.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Purvis; two sons, Elvernon D. Purvis and Dashelle Moore, both of Norfolk; his father, John H. Purvis of Norfolk; six sisters, Sylvia Marshburn and Geraldine Harris, both of Norfolk, Faye Harris of Bridgeton, N.J., Yvonne Purvis of Chesapeake, Regina Miller of Kansas and Barbara Riddick of Hampton; paternal grandmother, Marie Purvis of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Cemetery by the Rev. Steven Lewis. The family will assemble in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, at 10:20 a.m. Thursday. Viewing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
