Clifton Stephen ``Popeye'' Mullen Sr., 74, of the 3200 block of Verdun Ave., died Sept 20, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
He had retired from Ace Service Center, Kempsville, and was a Baptist. Mr. Mullen was the widower of Edna P. Mullen.
Survivors include two sons, Clifton Stephen Mullen Jr. and Donald Bruce Mullen Sr., both of Portsmouth; three sisters, Frances Williams of Wendell, N.C., Gladys Cone of Spring Hope, N.C., Barbara Padgett of Garner, N.C.; a brother, Charles Mullen of Spring Hope; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by Mr. Keith Lewis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. The family will also be at 26 Bainbridge Ave., Portsmouth. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
