ROBERT E. SINNOTT

Capt. Robert E. Sinnott, 82, of the 700 block of Cottonwood Court, died Sept. 22, 1997, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Born in New York City, he was a graduate of the Naval Academy Class of 1938 and retired 29 years ago as a captain in the U.S. Navy with 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. Mr. Sinnott was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Louise C. Sinnott.

Survivors include two sons, Michael E. Sinnott and Jean H. Sinnott, both of Virginia Beach, Christofer J. Sinnott and Ann Morgan of Alexandria, Va.; and a grandchild, Miss Jennifer Louise Sinnott of Virginia Beach.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek Chapel by Fr. James Park. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
