GRACE A. TOBIAS

Grace Atkins Tobias, 76, of the 2400 block of Meiggs Road died Sept. 23, 1997, in her residence.

She was a native of Portsmouth, a homemaker and former employee of Seaboard Railroad and Navy Exchange. She was a member of Cradock United Methodist Church and the Cradock Methodist Women's Circle.

Survivors include her husband, Marion J. Tobias; two sons, John Pete Ellis Jr. and his wife, Connie, and Edward Clayton Ellis and his wife, Lorna, all of Portsmouth; a sister, Erma Calverd of Portsmouth; a brother, Melvin Atkins, and his wife, Jane, of Chesapeake; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Lorino of Lacombe, La., and Mattie D. Breaux of Harahan, La.; five grandchildren, Ava Ellis Newton, Joan Ellis Bailey, Stacie Ellis Velez, Adam Jones and Matt Jones; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Ellis Bailey, Theron Ellis Newton and Victoria Madison Velez.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Michael Robbins. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Cradock United Methodist Church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
