MARY E. LINYEAR

Mary Elizabeth Linyear, 82, of the 100 block of W. 38th St. was called quietly and peacefully into God's Kingdom on Sept. 25, 1997.

She attended Norfolk Public Schools and was a retired receiving clerk for the commissary at Little Creek Amphibious Base. She was a lifelong member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. Until her illness, she was a member of several fraternal organizations.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William M. Linyear; two sons, Douglas M. Linyear and his wife, Helen, of Jamaica, N.Y., and William T. Linyear and wife, Josephine, of Chesapeake; three sisters, Elizabeth Brickhouse of Northampton County, Dora Hazell of Hampton and Naomi Adjahoe of Jamaica, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Quenton and Alyson Linyear. Many fond memories of her will be cherished by nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.

A service in celebration of her life will be conducted at noon Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, in Jerusalem Baptist Church, 718 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, by the Rev. H. Carlyle Church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Graves Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday and other times at 114 W. 38th St. There will be no fraternal rites performed at the wake or cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Monday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
