Daniel Edward ``Eddie'' Jones, 72, of the 2700 block of Roadside Lane died Sept. 25, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Born in Montclair, N.J., he was a longshoreman of International Longshoreman Assoc. No. 1248 for 15 years and retired 10 years ago. He was a member of United House of Prayer for All People, Virginia Beach, and the widower of Ida M. Jones. He was a member of Hampton Roads Shipping Association, ILA Local No. 1248, Veterans of Foreign Wars and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Terri Brewster of Lutz, Fla., and Brenda Harvey of Hampton; a son, Stanley Harold of Chesapeake; a brother, Milton O. Jones of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Jerry L. Harvey Jr., Brandon F. Harold and Constance Fitzgerald; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in United House of Prayer for All People, Virginia Beach, by Elder Randy Willie. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, at 10 a.m. Monday. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
