Roland Lee Midgette, 90, of the 900 block of Norview Ave. died Sept. 26, 1997, in a local hospital.
Born in Englehard, N.C., he retired from Texaco as a chief engineer after 26 years. He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church, Mattamuskeet Masonic Lodge No. 328, Englehard, and John Walter Royal Arch Chapter No. 68.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian T. Midgette; three sons, Roland L. Midgette Jr. of Virginia Beach, and Paul G. Midgette and Lindsey A. Midgette, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Allie Mason of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in McKendree United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Carper. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
