Ethel Johnson Laughton of the 2300 block of Myrtle Ave. died Sept. 25, 1997.
A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. William Luke Johnson. She was a retired homemaker, devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church for more than 75 years, and a member of True Love Tent No. 37. She was the widow of Albert Laughton.
Survivors include a son, Earl J. Laughton of Pemberton, N.J.; four sisters, Thelma J. Calhoun, Doris J. Murden, Frances J. Prince, all of Norfolk, Alice J. Walton of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Roland G. Johnson, Ellsworth K. Johnson, both of Norfolk; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Shiloh Baptist Church by Dr. John H. Foster. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The procession will assemble at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 6306 Glenoak Drive, Norfolk. Walton Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
