Willie Mae Capps, 87, of the 3600 block of Sagewood Road died Saturday Sept. 27, 1997, in a local hospital.
She was a native of Raleigh, N.C., and the widow of Roger H. Capps. She retired from Cowdery Florist as a floral designer. Mrs. Capps was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Womans Missionary Society.
Survivors a daughter, Nancy Ann Benson; three sons, Roger Eugene Capps of Portsmouth, Frederick M. Capps of Norfolk, Thomas H. Capps of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a half-sister, Grace Beasley of Godwin, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 20 Koger Executive Center, Norfolk.
