Melvin Jacob Schock, 76, of the 800 block of Christa Court, died Sept. 26, 1997.
Born in Kulm, N.D., he retired as a jet engine inspector at Naval Air Station, Alameda, Calif. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Lila M. Schock; two daughters, Darlinda Bauernschmidt and her husband, Bill Bauernschmidt of Williamsburg, Melinda Raczkiewicz and her husband, John Raczkiewicz of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Bertha Sprunk of Arizona and Olga Fey of California; a half-sister, Ermaline Bernard of California; three grandchildren, David Bauernschmidt of Williamsburg, Becky Bauernschmidt of Hampton and Jeremy Raczkiewicz of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Dick Baker. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Research. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
